My passion has always been the look of the pictures that comes out of a camera.
More or less since my first Kodachrome, I knew what to expect and what to demand of “the right” ( for me or for the job ) film.
So when I needed EPN, that’s the way, Provia for other jobs.
Much later – after lots of Portra – it occurred to me how much the lens helps you, too.
Today its almost upside down.
Gone is the need for hyper-sharpness ( OK I still have my Zeiss and Leica R’s ) but an inexpensive fixed lens from 1957, often does the job – if not better – then with much more edge and “personality”
